PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: March 2026
At HAVN Hunt, we respect the privacy and operational security of our Landowners and Hunters. We collect only what is necessary to facilitate secure bookings, verify legal identities, and provide offline tactical mapping. We do not sell your personal data to third-party data brokers.
1. Identity & Licensure Verification
Due to the nature of accessing private land with firearms, authentic verification is mandatory.
- Landowners: We utilize Stripe Identity to securely collect and verify government-issued IDs to confirm identity and facilitate secure financial payouts. HAVN Hunt does not directly store your raw ID images; they are securely tokenized and processed by Stripe.
- Hunters: We collect and review digital copies of your active state hunting licenses to issue your "Field Pass". This data is stored securely on our AWS architecture and is only utilized to confirm legal compliance before booking.
2. Location & GPS Data
The HAVN Hunt mobile application utilizes high-fidelity 3D terrain mapping and GPS tracking to ensure you remain within the strict legal boundaries of your booked property.
Your GPS data is local-first. Your real-time location, custom waypoints, and drawn "blood trails" are processed locally on your device or saved to your personal offline map packs. We do not continuously stream your GPS location to our servers for marketing or advertising purposes. Location data is only transmitted to our servers when actively querying the HAVNcast weather intelligence system for wind/scent cone data, or if a boundary dispute is formally reported.
3. Financial Data & Payouts
All credit card transactions, service fees, and Landowner payouts (including the deduction of the $2.50 monthly transfer fee) are handled securely via Stripe Connect. HAVN Hunt does not store your full credit card numbers or bank routing information on our servers.
4. Data Sharing & Law Enforcement
We may share your data with third parties in the following limited circumstances:
- With the Landowner: When you book a property, the Landowner receives your verified name, contact information, and digital waiver signature.
- Legal Compliance: We will disclose your information to state wildlife agencies (e.g., Department of Natural Resources), game wardens, or law enforcement if legally required via a subpoena, or to investigate claims of trespassing, poaching, or property damage.
5. Data Retention
We retain your digitally signed Master Release of Liability Agreements, transaction history, and associated identity verification tokens indefinitely. This is required to maintain the legal liability shield for our Landowners and to defend against potential future litigation.
